Lynne R. Di Stasi

Lynne R. Di Stasi, 79, of Schenectady, NY passed unexpectedly on November 28, 2024.  She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.

Daughter to Phyllis and Harry Marquardt, Lynne was born in Jamestown, NY and was raised in nearby Dunkirk, NY.  Lynne graduated SUNY at Fredonia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science and Biology.

After they met on a blind date in Rochester, NY, Lynne and Bob went on to enjoy 52 years of a wonderful marriage.  Their life journey together started in Rochester, NY, and continued across the state with stops in Oswego, Auburn, Utica, and Schenectady.  She started her career as a middle school science teacher in Rochester, NY, and after having her children, transitioned into a successful public/private tutor that touched the lives of hundreds of high school students in both the Guilderland Central School District and Mohonasen School District.

Lynne is survived by her husband, Robert, children Jeffrey and Stephanie, daughter-in-law Jessica, son-in-law Ben, her cherished grandchildren Annie, Michael, and Gabby, and her sister Diane. She loved hosting her family for the holidays and enjoyed their summer vacations together.

She will be forever remembered for her passion for great restaurants (especially their desserts!), and even better friends. Her continued thoughtfulness and generosity brought joy to so many people. Lynne was smart, funny, and inquisitive. We loved her sense of humor and infectious laugh.  She made you feel heard and cared for, and she was always ready to give some good advice.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lynne’s family on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, NY.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Lynne may consider a donation to the Center for Donation & Transplant, New York – Vermont (cdtnyvt.org).
