Lynn M. Ferrara, 62, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021. She was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Jack Ferrara and Shirley Ehrgott Ferrara. She was a graduate of Mohanasen High School. While attending she would walk after school over to the Ferrara Dance Studio where she was a dance instructor at the age of 17. She devoted her life to teaching the art of dancing through the generations. She was an excellent role model and an inspiration to her students. Not limiting her teaching to dance alone, she also taught her students many various values to have and hold throughout life. She could be a tough teacher at times, but she truly cared for each and every student that came into her life. She especially loved that her niece and nephew called her “Lala”, a special nickname that they alone were able to cherish. She is survived by her daughter, Tamara (Josh) Pieniazek, her grandchildren; Harper and Zoey Pieniazek, her brother, Jack Ferrara, her sister, Terri Ferrara, her nephew, Nikolas Sarnacki, her niece, Julianna, as well as many loving cousins and friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 9 from 8am-11am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306. A memorial service will take place at 11am at the funeral home. Lynn’s ashes will be laid to rest alongside her parents at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna, NY.
