Luigi Gabriele Di Gioacchino, 92, passed away peacefully at home on January 9th, 2026. Luigi was born on September 4th, 1933 in Rosciano, Province of Pescara, Italy to the late Amedeo and Felicetta (Speranza) Di Gioacchino.
A skillful and talented mechanic, Luigi fostered a notable career as a self-employed business owner in Schenectady, NY for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary (Melaragno) Di Gioacchino; children, Rita (Karl DeBate), Remo Di Gioacchino (Eileen), Anthony Di Gioacchino (Brandie), Annette Di Gioacchino (Jeffrey Karbowski), and Michael Di Gioacchino (Julia); grandchildren, Giuliana, Francesca, Isabella, Sophia, Luka, Azalea, Zinnia, Aurelia, Giada and Constantine; as well as several nieces and nephews and close personal friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 24th, at 11 AM, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady, NY. All are welcome to pay their respects to the family at the conclusion of the service in the church.
Inurnment will immediately follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna, NY.
