Lucia (Lucy) Margaret Capobianco, 63, of Schenectady NY passed away Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany, NY surrounded by family after an illness. Lucy was born March 7, 1952 in Schenectady, to Edward and Marjorie (Franklin) Capobianco. Survivors include Lucy's mother, Marjorie Capobianco and three sisters: Linda Capobianco (William) of Lynn Massachusetts, Maria (James) Carroll of Ballston Lake, NY and Laura (Walter) McNulty of Rotterdam NY. She is survived by nieces & nephews: Sara Najafipour (Charles), Theresa (Christopher) Perkins, Marco (Lidia) Cusano, Joseph Cusano (Lisa), Elisa (Jason) Hall, Susann Najafipour (John), Nicholas Cusano (Lea), Cristina Cusano, & Kayla Najafipour.She was predeceased by her father Edward Capobianco and nephew Domenick Cusano. Lucy was a 1970 graduate of Notre Dame High School, Schenectady, NY.She attended the University of Louisville School of Music, the Boston Conservatory of Music, receiving her Bachelors of Science in Music at SUNY Regents College, Albany NY. Lucy received her Masters of Music Education with a concentration in Piano Pedagogy at the College of St. Rose, Albany NY. Lucy also studied privately with concert pianist and recording artist Harriet Shirvan and with Gerry Martin of the New England Conservatory. She attended the Pulsifer Piano Tuning School, receiving her piano tuning and repair certificate. Lucy was a master pianist for 40 years. She was the owner and instructor of The Magic of Music Piano Studio in Delmar NY, resident piano instructor at Artist Piano in Latham NY, and taught privately for many years inspiring her students. Lucy expressed many other talents. She was a licensed expert beautician and owner of Lucy's Loft Hair Salon. In addition she worked at Lucy's Pizzeria and Restaurant, family owned business located in Schenectady. Lucy's many interests included traveling to destinations such as Mexico, France, England, and Italy. She was an avid animal lover raising Belgian Sheepdogs and Standard Poodles. Lucy was a loving aunt and enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.She was always there to lend a helping hand. She will be remembered by all for her wit, humor, and knowledge. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all. Calling hours will be held on Monday eve. from 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday, 10:15 am from the funeral home, followed at 11 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady.
