ROTTERDAM - Luca Santabarbara passed away peacefully of naturally causes on his 96th birthday on January 31, 2016. Luca grew up in Caiazzo, Italy, where he served in the military during World War II and later farmed. He came to America in 1971, settling in Schenectady, and worked at Mont Pleasant Bakery until he retired. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, had a passion for life and was kind to everyone he met. Luca is survived by and will be dearly missed by his son, Angelo Santabarbara, and his wife, Maria, and their children, Angelo Luca Santabarbara, and his wife, Jennifer , and Gino Santabarbara and his wife Kristen; his daughter, Elena and her husband Francesco Perretta, and their children, Daniel Perretta and his wife, Marica, Tino Perretta and his wife, B.J., Danielle and her husband Chris, and Frank; his great grand children Michael, Marianna, Gianna, Gino, Ashley, Lindsey, Madison and Ian; and his nieces, nephews and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Angelo and Angelina Santabarbara, and his siblings, Elena, Filiberto and Pia. Family and friends are invited to call at the Demarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Thursday February 4, 2016 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at11:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Princetown Rd Rotterdam. Immediately following interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park Mausoleum.
