Louise A Sullivan

d. April 12, 2018

Louise Agnes Sullivan 71, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Louise was born in Mechanicville, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph Denno and Louise DeMicco Denno. She graduated from Mechanicville High School and was employed for many years as an office administrator at Two Guys Stores in Schenectady and finished her working career as an executive assistant to the chief financial officer at Von Roll Holdings in Schenectady. Louise married her beloved husband, Daniel J. Sullivan, on May 14, 1977. Danny passed away in September 2015. Louise had no children of her own but she joyfully compensated by adopting a series of marvelously needy and rambunctious cats called her “kids” on whom she showered immeasurable love and care. The last of these dependents, Ali, Max and Sophie, survive her. She also demonstrated her devotion to animals by generously contributing to a variety of organizations dedicated to their welfare. Louise most enjoyed traveling with Danny throughout the United States and Europe. Her favorite domestic destination was Provincetown, MA, where she is reputed to have had a designated beach spot for tanning, and although the pair traveled widely in Europe, her favorite, and entirely predictable, country was Italy. Whether at home or away, one of Louise’s great joys of life was “eating out” with friends and family. Louise is survived by her cousins, Dean (Pam) Henderson of Clifton Park, NY, Agnes Lavigne of Clifton Park, NY, William DeMicco of Latham, NY and Denise Atkinson of Malta, NY. She is also survived by her stepson, Robert M. Sullivan, of Brandenburg KY. and step-grandson, Sterling Sullivan of Oklahoma City, OK. Also surviving are her brother in law and his wife, Thomas and Carol Sullivan of Lake George, NY. Very special thanks to Louise’s longtime friends, Sue Fritz and Ruth and Jim Lawyer, and also to her cousin, Donna Franchini, for the attention and support she gave to Louise. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderfully capable and caring staff at Ellis Hospital and to Louise’s many devoted friends who the last, very trying months of her life as joyful as possible. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Wednesday 10:30 am. Interment will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
