Niskayuna-Louise A. Spataro of Niskayuna, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2014 with her family by her side. She was born in Schenectady to the late Angelo and Carmella Gallo residing in the area throughout herlife. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and lived her life faithfully with a Christian spirit. Louise was predeceased by her beloved husband Anthony of more than 40yrs. of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Mark (Kim) Spataro of Ballston Lake, Matthew (Daphne) Spataro of Niskayuna,Deborah Anderson of Niskayuna, Anne Spataro (Mark Casey) of Clifton Park and Thomas (Rosemary)Spataro of Niskayuna. She was extremely proud of her dearly loved 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Louise enjoyed her childhood growing up in the Mont Pleasant section of Schenectady with her brothers, Aunts, Uncles and many cousins. She enjoyed a very special connection with her Aunt Anna Sterlina. Spending many special times learning to cook special italian favorites and enjoying the love of family. She loved to needlepoint, crochet, knit baby blankets and make quilts for her family, her grandchildren and extended family. She learned these skills from her mother and cherished aunts while growing up and later passed on her knowledge to her daughters and granddaughters. Throughout her life, Louise shared her love of the beaches of New Jersey, Massachusetts and Florida with her family. She took tremendous joy in playing in the sand, reading books, walking, looking for the perfect shell and playing scrabble at the beach. However, nothing was more enjoyable to her than rocking her grandchildren to sleep while listening to the surf. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning,9:30am at the Demarco Stone Funeral Home, followed at 10:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial services will follow at St. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, 611 Duanesburg Rd, Rotterdam.
