Schenectady – Our precious mom, Louise Cammarota Franchetti, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, surrounded by her daughters. She was 105. Born in Schenectady, Louise was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rachel Cammarota. She was the 2nd oldest of thirteen children and is survived by sisters, Elizabeth Humphrys and Frances Dox. She was predeceased by her siblings, Theresa, Mary, Jennie, Viola, Margaret, Tomaso, James, Lydia andSamuel, and her late son-in-law, Dominick Cappuccitti. Her husband, Americo Franchetti, whom she married on August 8th, 1937 also predeceased her. Together they had three devoted daughters, Mary Ann (Bill) Foley, Gloria (Bill Thwaits)Cappuccitti and Shirley (Tony) Giaquinto. Louise was a devoted wife. She took care of her bed ridden husband for nine years in their home. She worked as a domestic housekeeper for a judge, lawyers, doctors, & teachers. Louise never said an unkind word ever, she loved everyone. She taught her family to be kind, compassionate and caring and she was everyone’s friend. She was a hard worker, thoughtful, and caring and has been an inspiration to all. Our family was truly blessed with a beautiful mother and grandmother and she will be missed beyond measure. Louise was able to live independently for 93 years at which point her three daughters took over and devoted themselves to her care. Louise is survived by her three loving daughters, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren, her two sisters, her cousin Angie Carraciola, and many nieces, nephews and dear & special friends. Calling hours will take place on Wednesday from 8:15-10:15am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd. Louise will be laid to rest at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady. Louise’s family would like to thank the staff and residents at the Schenectady Center for their care and companionship during Louise’s time there. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Louise's memory may be made to Schenectady City Mission or Community Hospice.
