Louis A Semione

Schenectady - Louis A. Semione, 97, passed away at home on Thursday June 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Gloversville, NY, He was the son of Joseph and Angelina Pedone Semione. Louis served our country in the United States Navy during World War II and retired from the General Electric Co. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and was a former member of the Sons of Italy in Schenectady. He was also a former member of the VanVranken Golf League and an avid poker player. He loved his New York Yankees. Louis will be remembered above all else for his love and devotion to his family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geni (Jennie) Adinolfi Semione. 3 sons; Louis M. (Ann) Semione of Schenectady, David (Renae) Semione of Niskayuna and Robert (Fern) of Black River, NY. 9 Grandchildren; Christopher (Leah) Semione, Daniel Semione, Sara Semione, Ryan Semione, Jenna Semione, Robert Semione Jr., Richard Semione, Chris Semione and Ginny Frattali. 3 Great Grandchildren; Ava, Noah and Jacob Semione. 2 brothers; Arthur and Joseph (Yolanda) Semione both of Gloversville. 2 sisters; Gloria (Robert) Perrela and Elizabeth Grich both of Gloversville. 2 sisters-in-law; Rose (Harry) Paston and Angie (the late Thomas) Cenzano. Louis is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Louis was predeceased by his 5 siblings; Pat Semione, Americo (Jake) Semione, Rose Frank, Ann Lavender, Virginia Fiorito and his brothers and sisters -in-law, Fred and June Adinolfi & Jesse and Jean Martell. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, followed by an 11:45 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Louis' memory to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union St., Schenectady, NY 12308.
