Louis Robert Mazzone

Niskayuna – Louis Robert Mazzone, 92, of The Brookdale, passed away on Tuesday January 10, 2017. Louis was born in Schenectady to the late John & Carmela Castaldi Mazzone and was a lifelong area resident. He was a graduate of the former Mont Pleasant High School and served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Louis was a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 31 years retiring in 1987. Louis is survived by three sons, Daniel J. Mazzone (Vikki), Louis R. Mazzone Jr. (Rosemary) and Jeffrey M. Mazzone (Lynn). Six Grandchildren; Eric Mazzone (Jessica), Nicholas Mazzone (Maureen), Jennifer Mazzone, Elizabeth (Michael) Massarone, Lauren Mazzone and A. J. Mazzone. Five great grandchildren; Kateri Mazzone, Lucia Mazzone, Valerie Mazzone, Teresa Mazzone and Cecilia Mazzone. His sister; Beatrice (the late Michael) Rossi and his brother, John C. Mazzone (Patricia). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Louis was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Gloria R. Mazzone and his brother, Joseph J. (the late Mary) Mazzone. Calling hours will be held Friday from 6-8 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral service will begin 9 am Saturday at the funeral home.
