Obituary of Louis “Corky” Anthony Fasolino DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, Rotterdam, NY Louis “Corky” Anthony Fasolino was reunited with his beloved wife, Chrystene A. Fasolino, in heaven as he has peacefully passed away at the age of 86, of natural causes on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing. Louis was born December 30, 1937 in Amsterdam to Louis and Helen Fasolino. Louis graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School located Amsterdam NY in 1956, and upon graduation Louis entered the UNITED STATES NAVY. Seaman Louis A. Fasolino proudly served from 1956 to 1959 on the USS Maloy (DE-791/EDE-791) Destroy Escort. After returning from the NAVY he worked for the NYS State Department of health for 41 years. During that time he was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, and uncle. Besides his love for his family, he also had a passion for baseball and working in his gardens. Louis spent the majority of his time during his summers at Carman Little League located in Rotterdam, NY from 1977 to 1986. He was part of the E-Board from 1979 to 1986 and was President in 1982, 1983 and 1986. If you didn’t see him at the ballpark then he was working in his vegetable and fruit garden. Straight from his garden was his tomato, cucumber and garlic clove salad. His absolute greatest love of all was his grandchildren, and being their number one fan for all their sporting events from elementary school to College; from Tae Kwon Do, Basketball, Baseball, Softball and Volleyball. Louis is survived by his sister Janice Helmin, his sons and daughters-in-law, Louis Paul Fasolino and Allison Silk Fasolino, of Galway, Josef Michael Fasolino, and Kristen Colleton Fasolino, of Rotterdam; grandchildren, Ava, Anthony, and Sophia Fasolino; and his much loved girlfriend and companion Theresa Vatrano; sister-n-law Shirley Scholtz; and all of his nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly! The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, NY 12306. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church 39 St John St Amsterdam, NY 12010 followed by burial at Mt Carmel Cemetery, Truax Road, Amsterdam, NY where Louis will be laid to rest with full military honors. The Fasolino family would like to personally thank the Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing for all of their wonderful care and dedication to our father. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to RC Little League PO Box 3557, Schenectady NY 12303.
