Schenectady - Louis F. DeVito, 91, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born on December 20, 1926, a son of the late Dominick and Louise DeVito; husband of the late Anna SantaBarbara DeVito. Louis proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army. Together with his father and brother, Louis owned DeVito & Sons Construction. He was past President of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers as well as the Abruzzi Bocci Club. Louis was also a well-known member of the Rotterdam Elks Lodge. Louis was predeceased by his brother, Benjamin DeVito, sister, Anna Tetsel; sister-in-laws, Geraldine DeVito and Ruth SantaBarbara; brother-in-laws Angelo SantaBarbara, Michael SantaBarbara and Arnold D'Atillio. Louis is survived by daughter, LouAnn Cleary and son Dominick DeVito (Janet); grandchildren, Dominick DeVito, Bryan Cleary (Amy Laiacona), Louis DeVito, Anthony Cleary (Rebecca Gleason), Chyrl Wilson (Bob), Joseph DeVito, Meaghan Lacona (Rock) and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Jean D’Atillio and sister-in-law, Yolanda Longo (Paul). Calling hours will be held Monday February 12th from 4:30 - 6:30 pm at The Church of Christ the King, 20 Sumter Ave., Guilderland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 7pm. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Church of Christ the King or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
