Schenectady – Lorraine Verzulli, 87, formerly of Rotterdam, passed away early on Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born in Saranac Lake, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Edmund and Mary (Curran) Kearney. After graduating from Mont Pleasant High School, Lorraine worked for a brief time at the General Electric Company before devoting her life to raising her family. She was a parishioner of St. Gabriel’s Church. Lorraine was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards but above all adored spending time with her family. Lorraine is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Arthur Verzulli and her sister, Elaine Moog and brother-in-law, Dave Moog. She leaves behind her children, Steven Verzulli (Demaris), James Verzulli (Judi), Kathleen Verzulli and Rick Verzulli (Marie), her grandchildren, Rachel Hoppner (Christopher), Megan Latimer (Joe), and Christy Thimineur (Brad), great grandchildren, Benjamin Hoppner, Rebecca Hoppner, Britani Strohm and Kaylie Thimineur as well as one great great grandson, Jaxsen Strohm. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6th from 11-11:30am with a memorial service beginning at 11:30am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Inurnment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady.
