Lorraine S. Ostapow

ROTTERDAM- Lorraine Rita Ostapow passed away peacefully at home on December 29, 2025, at the age of 92. The daughter of the Late Salvator and Lena Sidoni, Lorraine was a beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend who touched many lives.
Lorraine graduated from Draper High School and was employed by the General Electric Company as a payroll clerk. She then worked part-time in her family business at Sal’s Quality Market in Rotterdam, NY. She was predeceased by her late beloved husband, Leon Ostopow, and her brother, William Sindoni, of Rotterdam, NY.
Lorraine enjoyed reading, shopping, dining out and, most importantly, spending time with her family and friends. She was an animal lover, offering home and comfort to many stray cats and feeding birds and squirrels in her backyard.
Lorraine is survived by her son John Ostapow (Nancy) and Daughter Kathleen DePan (Andrew), her beloved brother, Edward Sindoni of Ipswich, MA, niece Laura Gouzie (Brad), nephews Mark Sindoni (Carol) of MA, Paul Sindoni (Fena) of Atlanta, GA, Michael Sindoni, Tom Sindoni (Paula Bene), and several grandchildren, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 10:30 am in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, Schenectady, NY.
