Rotterdam – Loretta Jean (Mauceri) Griesemer of Rotterdam passed away peacefully at home on Saturday December 1, 2018. Loretta was born May 8, 1933 and raised in Schenectady and attended Nott Terrace High School. On February 1, 1953 she married Herman (Mickey) Griesemer and together they raised four children. In Loretta’s early years she worked in the medical field at Ellis Hospital and later became a full time homemaker, enjoying caring for her home and family. Some of her favorite times were spent at camp on Sacandaga Lake. She was predeceased by her parents Carmela and Placido Mauceri, her husband Herman of 47 years, her brothers Anthony, Louis and Vincent Mauceri and her son-in-law Richard Collins. Survivors include her beloved children Sandra Griesemer, Cheryl Collins, Michael (Kathy) Griesemer, Patrick (Lynette) Griesemer all of Rotterdam, her grandchildren, Jennifer Collins, Erika, Amanda and Michael Griesemer, Patrice (Rich) Mainville, Lindsey (Brandon) Shepler and one great grandchild, Maxon Mainville. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her many home health aides for their love and compassion, also to Dr. Joseph Fusella for his care and support. At Loretta’s request, there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:30am at St. Gabriel’s Church in Rotterdam. Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
