Rotterdam-Loretta Ann Amoroso, 72, formerly of Rotterdam, passed away peacefully on Saturday February 25, 2017 after a short illness. She was born in Schenectady on November 2, 1944 the daughter of the late Albie A. and Mary F. DeCocco Natalie. She was a high school graduate in 1962 from Niskayuna High School. Loretta married her beloved husband Joseph D. Amoroso Jr on September 27, 1964. Joseph predeceased her in 2010. For 28 years until her retirement in 2005 Loretta was employed as an Administrative Assistant in the New York State Offices of People with Development Disabilities. Loretta loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching them swim in her pool, play at her house and especially being with them on their frequent trips to Disney World. She also loved weekend getaways to the Jersey Shore and Maine with her husband and daily breakfasts with her friends from St. Anthony’s church in Schenectady. Loretta is remembered lovingly by her family as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving son Joseph A. and his wife Felicia Amoroso of Rotterdam and two granddaughters Isabella and Gabriela Amoroso of Rotterdam; a brother Albie “Skip” Natalie and his wife Barbara of New Mexico; her sister Joan DelVecchio of Rotterdam; her sister in law Trisha Natalie of Glenville; her sister in law Virginia Amoroso of Burnt Hills; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Joseph, Loretta was predeceased by her beloved daughter Laurie- Jo Amoroso in 2002, brother in law Stephen DelVecchio, her brother Robert Natalie and her brother in law Louis Amoroso. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Thursday March 2, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral services will begin on Friday March 3, 2017 at8:45 am at the funeral home. Immediately following a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 210 Princetown Road Rotterdam Interment will be at a later date.
