Niskayuna – Livia Rose Mammarella DellaRocco, 92, of 898 Cunningham Ct., died on Friday June 9, 2017 at her home after a long illness. Livia was born December 10, 1924 in Sambuceto, Chieti, Italy. Livia proudly immigrated from Italy in 1929 and settled in Schenectady where she began her long working career. She was the daughter of Achille and Frances Mammarella and attended local schools. Upon graduation she was employed in the advertising and sales promotion division at General Electric. She left the company after five years to pursue employment as a realtor. She worked for Century 21 Capital Homes for 35 years. Livia married her beloved husband John P. DellaRocco on August 11, 1946 and were happily married for 68 years. In addition to her parents, Livia was predeceased by her husband, John P. DellaRocco; her son, John A. DellaRocco and her sister, Mary Famiano. Survivors include her son, Paul DellaRocco of Brookline, Mass. Grandson, Jonathan DellaRocco of Florida and granddaughter, Aliana Ming DellaRocco of Brookline, Mass. A visiting hour will be held Thursday from 9-10 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A 10:30 am Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace, Princetown Rd., Rotterdam. Burial will follow at St. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
