Lillian P. Gorman

d. January 10, 2024

ROTTERDAM - On Tuesday January 10, 2024 Lillian Pauline Gorman (nee LaVallee) was reunited with her beloved husband after an almost 30 year separation. Lillian was born Memorial Day, 1924 in Charlton NY to the late Theophile and Emma Marie LaVallee. At age 10 she moved into the home her father and brothers built in Rotterdam; she was there when she passed 89 years later. Lillian married the love of her life, whom she met at age 5, Henry "Hank" Joseph Gorman whom she married May 27, 1944. Hank told Lillian's mother "I am going to marry her when I grow up" and he did. They were together nearly every day until he passed in 1994 and are surely together again. Lillian was the fifth of eight children born to her parents. Her sibling Rose Marie Youngs is the only survivor. She was predeceased by sisters Alma Carlone and Emma MacWhinnie, brothers Leo "John" LaVallee, Victor "Pat" LaVallee, Hank LaVallee, George "Duke" LaVallee, and a great granddaughter Rylee-Nicol. Lillian was proud to have been the secretary to numerous Superintendents of Schalmont Central School District for 29 1/2 years. She remained a detailed oriented, fact checking, resource sharing lady the rest of her life.

She is survived by two daughters Donna (Duane) Johnson and Linda Johnson; five grandchildren, Kristen (Ron) Zadrozny, Jannien "Gigi" Johnson, Kyleen (Steve) Robichaud, Jami (Patrick) Liska and Kerri (David) Collins; six great grandchildren, Makenzie Robichaud, Ronnie (Alyssa) Zadrozny, Julia Zadrozny, Nikos Johnson, Lily Collins and David Ryan Collins; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday January 19th from 10:30am to 12pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam, immediately followed by a memorial service at 12pm and then interment at Saratoga National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with Hank at last. The family requests no flowers please, they make her sneeze and she doesn't have a pocket for her tissue. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.
