Schenectady - Lidia Palleschi Mastroianni, 88, at rest, Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Lidia was born in Broccostella, Frosinone, Italy, the daughter of the late Domenico and Filomena Leone Palleschi. She came to this country with family in 1972. A homemaker, Lidia loved cooking and caring for her family and extended family. She enjoyed making and sharing bread baked in her outdoor brick oven built by her husband. Lidia also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, bowling and playing bocci. Lidia was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Pasquale Mastroianni (1992); loving mother ofConcetta Cianfarani, Domenico Mastroianni, Angela (Anthony) Lanaro, Rosina (Antonio)Ascione, Nicola (Louisa) Mastroianni, Rita (Loreto)Vani, Marisa (Jay) Krupanich; beloved sister ofCandida Gabriele, Maria Lancia, Vincenza DiVona, Giuseppe Palleschi, Rosa Gizzi and the late Elena and Augusto Palleschi. Lidia is also survived by16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Friday, November 21, from 4 to 7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin Saturday 8:30am at the funeral home, followed at 9:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam. Lidia will be entombed in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Lidia's family wishes to give special thanks to the Entire Staff of Glendale Nursing Home for the beautiful care they gave their mother.
