Libra J. DeCesare, 80, of Schenectady, NY passed away suddenly and peacefully at home on November 9, 2017. She was born on March 18, 1937 in Schenectady, NY, the daughter of the late Sabatino Pantalone and Louise Mastroianni Pantalone of Schenectady, NY. She was predeceased by her older brother Carmen Pantalone, her best friend and loving husband of 52 years, Dante U. DeCesare, and her dear cousin and friend MaryLee Manfredi. She was a lifetime resident of Schenectady, NY and attended Mont Pleasant High School. Survivors include her loving children Don J. DeCesare (Patricia) of Birmingham, AL, Diane L. Charletta (Len) of Middleburgh, NY, Michael C. DeCesare of Schenectady, NY, Bruce C. DeCesare (Melanie) of Schenectady, NY, Carol A. Pister of Westtown, NY and Carl L. DeCesare (Anne) of Niskayuna, NY; her loving sister Antoinette Leone (Dominick) of Schenectady, NY; her grandchildren Meribeth Gilbert (Kyle) of Birmingham, AL, John DeCesare of Minturn, CO, Lenny Charletta (Jessica) of Central Bridge, NY, Jacqueline VanderVeen (Rob) of Esperance, NY, Nicole Sposato (Glen) of Rotterdam, NY, Rachel Rickner (Eric) of Central Bridge, NY, LeeAnn McTighe (Chris) of Schenectady, NY, Clay DeCesare of Schenectady, NY, Caleb DeCesare of Schenectady, NY, Madeline Pister of Westtown, NY, Connor Pister of Westtown, NY and Emily DeCesare of Niskayuna, NY; 17 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Libra always put her family first. It is a tremendous loss for us all, and our lives will never be the same. She had a love of music and loved dancing to her favorite song by Hurricane Smith. She enjoyed her weekly show Dancing With The Stars and her twice weekly exercise sessions of Strong Bones at the Guilderland Town Hall with her senior friends who meant so much to her. She loved hummingbirds and set up feeders in her yard to marvel at their beauty. She also enjoyed traveling with our Dad and visited Italy, Nevada, Washington, California, Hawaii, and Alberta, Canada just to name a few. Everyone that knew her came to adore her. Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating the life of our beloved mother on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 10 am to 12 noon at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home on 1605 Helderberg Ave in Schenectady, NY, followed by a religious service of Catholic faith at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery on Troy-Schenectady Road in Schenectady, NY. In Lieu of flowers, our family graciously requests contributions be made in her memory to The Autism Society of America, St. Jude Childrens Hospital, or the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northeastern NY. Our family would like to extend our gratitude to the Town Of Guilderland Police Department, and her numerous friends, neighbors and loved ones who showed us kindness and support in our time of loss.
