Leonard "Lenny" Riccardi, 80, at rest on Thursday, September 18, 2014 in Boynton Beach, Fla. Lenny was born in Schenectady, N.Y. on September 28, 1933. A former member of the A.F.M. Local #85 Musicians Union, Lenny organized the "Lenny Riccardi Orchestra" in the late 40's until the 70's and provided music and, entertainmentfor weddings, banquets, Proms and countless various social occasions. A graduate of the former Mont Pleasant High School in 1952,Lenny pursued his career with the General Electric Company and the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory for over 42 years, , retiring as a Supervisor in Computer Operations. During his tenure he also pursued a Court Reporter career at Spencer's Business Institute. Lenny resided in Schenectady and Saratoga Lake, where he thoroughly enjoyed entertaining his friends and relatives for many years. After retirement in 1995, resided summers at his Saratoga lakeside home and his winter home in Delray Beach, Florida. He was a volunteer at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center for over 30 years and was a member of the G.E. Quarter Century Committee. Lenny was predeceased by his parents, Maria (Creatura) Riccardi and Dominick Riccardi;sister, Edith Lupi;brother, Edward Riccard; , niece, Sandra Jamacy, nephew, Jeffrey Lupi and dear Aunt and Uncles, John, Constance and Rocco Creatura. He is survived by his sister,Ann Byrne; nephews and nieces, Frank, Keith and Kraig Byrne, David Lupi, Dominick Riccardi, Lisa Riccardi and Deborah Merritt; cousins, John and Robert Creatura and dear family friend, Lina Antenucci. A calling period will be held Thursday morning, September 25, from 8am to 10am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Those in attendance may follow in procession for an 11am Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1260 Pleasant St. Schenectady. Burial will follow in Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St. Schenectady, NY 12303 or Immanuel Catholic Church, 15700 S.
