Leon Robert Cox

Mariaville - Leon Robert Cox died in his home, surrounded by family and friends on July 27th, 2023.

Leon was born on December 9th, 1948 in Waltham, Massachusetts to the late Homer King Cox and Dorothy Ruth Cox ( we orgel ).

He spent the first 9 years of his life on various Air Force Bases in the U.S. He then settled in Rotterdam, NY with his family and graduated from Mohonasen Highschool in 1967. In 1970, he started his career at General Electric. In 1973 he built his home in Mariaville and retired in 2004.

Leon enjoyed many hobbies including fly fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, kayaking, and traveling all over the Country.

Leon is pre-deceased by his parents and sister, Carol Lee Abare. He is survived by: his loving son; Brett Robert Cox, his Daughter-in-Law; Saskia Keppert-Cox, his two Granddaughters; Lia and Stella Cox, his former wife; Mary-Ann Bouck, his brother-in-law; Joseph Abare and his three Nieces with their families.

Leon will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors and nature.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 8th from 1pm-3pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A prayer service will follow at 3pm.
