Leon H. Bardwell

SCHENECTADY - Leon H. Bardwell, 93 formerly of 12th Street and the Edison Apartments, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 27, 2023 at Ellis Hospital.

Born and educated in Poultney, Vermont he was the son of the late Stephen and Edna May (Packard) Bardwell.

Leon served in the US Army from 1946 to 1948. He worked as a printer for Argus Press in Albany for many years retiring in 1992. He was a member and Trustee of the former Broadway Methodist Church. Leon was also a former Boy Scout Troop Leader.

Leon was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Catherine Mary (McMullen) Bardwell. He is survived by his five children, Thomas (Susan) Bardwell of Rexford, Debra (the late James) Brennan of Ballston Spa, Jerry (Linda) Bardwell of Middleboro, MA, Steven (Vanessa) Bardwell of Scotia and Dean (Cindy) Bardwell of Rotterdam; 9 grandchildren, Audra, Erika, Shaun, Amanda, Nicole, Kimberly, Joshua, Jesse, and Serena; 10 great-grandchildren, Madison, Allyson, Nicholas, Nathan, Adalynn, Asher, Andrew, Dolly, Alexander and Isaiah.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service, with Military Honors, on Thursday June 29, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery 200 Duell Rd. Schuylerville. Please arrive by 10:45 am.
