Lawrence M. “Larry” Ross, 61, of Rotterdam passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 15, 2018. Born in Schenectady, Larry was the son of Lawrence and Patricia Ross. He graduated from Mohonasen High School in 1974. Larry owned and worked at Rotterdam Septic Systems for over 44 years, a family business his father started in 1954. Larry loved the outdoors, and was a very avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of “Robb’s Creek Buckos” and the State Line Camp, a hunting camp in the Adirondacks with his best friends. He had an endless list of great friends and there wasn’t a person who didn’t enjoy his company. He is survived by his mother Patricia Ross of Rotterdam, his wife of 23 years, Deborah Maness Ross, their children; Matthew (Julie) Ross of Ballston Spa, Christopher (Mikaela) Ross of Albany, Allison Ross of Schenectady, Jesse Ross of Rotterdam, Gregory (Alecia) Ramonowski of Phoenix, AZ., and Brandy Ramonowski of Rotterdam, two sisters; Kathy (Gary) Riviello of Guilderland and Lisa (Richard) Yingling of Rotterdam, and two grand-daughters; Abigail Ross and Victoria Ross. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 20th, from 4:00-7:00 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin at 7:00 pm at the funeral Home. We ask that in lieu of flowers people make donations to the Jack Falvo III Foundation (Jack’s Place), 17 Rosa Rd. Schenectady, NY 12308. Jack’s Place is a foundation in Schenectady that houses families with children who are undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals. There will also be a commemoration of life on Wednesday, March 21st, from 12:00-2:00pm at the Rotterdam Junction Volunteer Fire Department, 1215 Main St., in Rotterdam Jct.
