Larry Briggs

Schenectady- Larry Briggs, 59, at rest August 17, 2013, in Morganton, North Carolina. Larry was born and educated in Schenectady. He was the son of the late Edford and Joyce Davenport Briggs. A truck driver by trade, Larry worked for the Mont Pleasant Bakery and was later employed for many years with Crisafulli Foods. He was a member of the Rotterdam Elks Lodge 2157. An active person, Larry enjoyed playing softball for Christies Tavern, camping, fishing, watching car racing, and was an avid Giant and Yankee fan. He was the beloved life partner of Gloria Pickett St. Andrews and her children and grandchildren; beloved father of Jennifer (Angelo) Santabarbara, Katherine (Eugene) Maye, Casey (Keith Marr) Briggs; loving grandfather of Michael and Marianna Santabarbara, Eugene Jr., Alexis and Ashante Maye, Zachery and Cameron Briggs; beloved brother of Daniel (Annie) Briggs, John Hermance, Harold Briggs and the late Eddie Hermance. Larry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A calling period will be held Sunday, September 15 from 10:30am to 1:15pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. At 1:15pm the Rotterdam Elks will conduct a service in tribute to Larry, which will conclude calling hours.
