LaKeisha was born to the Union of Ronald and Mary Diggs Maye on July 14, 1980 in Schenectady, NY. Keisha Journeyed peacefully to her heavenly home on Friday, October 2, 2020. LaKeisha courageously battled an illness for over 20years and lived a very vibrant life. She was temporarily being cared for at the Grand Nursing home in Valatie, NY prior to her passing. LaKeisha was educated in the Schenectady School system and received her High School Diploma in 2006. Lakeisha moved to Syracuse, NY with her mother and Michael Dunbar who helped in instilling life's lessons to Lakeisha. Lakeisha was raised to love and believe in the Lord. As a Child of God, Lakeisha was always willing to help others and to assist when needed especially when it came to cooking and serving at family and community functions. LaKeisha was an avid shopper and hair stylist. Keisha enjoyed spending time with her girl friends. Keisha loved working with kids which she did at her "cousin-friend" Day Care for some time. She knew her way around the kitchen and cooked very well. Lakeisha was best known for her love of her kids, family and close friends. "In the Midst of it All" She will be remembered most for her Courage, loyalty and humbleness. MY "KeeKee", My "babygirl" I will miss our talks and your candid oppion about life; Mom. Mommy, Thank you for teaching me how to Love and be a caring respectable person, You were a Social butterfly that I enjoyed watching; Ny-kasia. Keisha, Your Smile regardless of what was going on, made everything okay for me, I will miss you always; Eugene. "The Lord is my Shepard: I shall not want" "Poohbie", as LaKeisha was affectionately Called was predeceased by her God Mother, Ana Michelle Chatman and Her God Son, Passquel R. Brown. "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me". LaKeisha leaves to Cherish her memory her daughters, Ny'Kasia Maye and Ceasia Johnson; Her Grandson, Elias; Her Mother, Mary Diggs(Michael Dunbar); Her Father, Ronald Maye; Her Sisters, Latonya Diggs, Tiffany and Candice Dunbar; Her Brothers, Eugene(Kathy)Maye and Michael Dunbar; Her God Children, Emperor Jr. and Meonia; and Her Special Aunt, Pearl Hunter; 5 Aunts, 6 Uncles, 3 great Aunts and 2 Great uncle, 1 great nephew and a host of cousins, neices, nephews and other relatives. I’M FREE DON’T GRIEVE FOR ME NOW; BECAUSE I’M FREE, I’M FOLLOWING THE PATH GOD LAID FOR ME, PERHAPS MY TIME HERE SEEMED TO BRIEF; DON’T LENGTHEN IT NOW WITH UNDUE GRIEF, MY LIFE’S BEEN FULL I’VE SAVORED MUCH, I LIVED THE LIFE GOD INTENDED FOR ME, I LEFT A PATH FOR ALL TO SEE, THE JOURNEY WAS LONG THE ROAD GOT ROUGH, MY FAITH STAYED STRONG EVEN WHEN TIMES WERE TOUGH, PRECIOUS MEMORIES I HAVE TO KEEP, I’M RESTING NOW AT MY SAVIOR’S FEET, LIFT UP YOUR HEART AND SHARE WITH ME, GOD WANTED ME NOW…. HE SET ME FREE.
