Guilderland, NY. Kenneth Jerome Preisser, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 11, 2025. He was born in Albany on March 19, 1938 to the late Jerome Stephen Preisser and Agnes Regina Campbell. Ken graduated from Vincentian Institute, Albany and received his bachelors degree from Russell Sage College, Evening Division. He was Director of State Accounts for the New York State Comptrollers Office and retired after 37 years of service. He was a member of the New York National Guard for 8 years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Preisser (Kosiba); his four children Kirsten (David) Jones, Lake George, Kenneth Preisser, Charlotte, NC, Karen (Michael) Ravalli, Guilderland, and Matthew (Sarah) Preisser, East Lansing, MI; and his twelve grandchildren Brittany (Paul) Rodrigues, Erik (Kaylie), Kyle, and Alex Jones; Larson, Tara and Brooke Preisser; Michael, Caroline, and Emily Ravalli; and Olivia and Liam Preisser. He is predeceased by siblings John Preisser and Mary Preisser. Ken was a lifelong Yankees fan and faithfully rooted for them regardless of how well they were playing. He loved to sing songs from the 40s and 50s and would often spontaneously break into song. Ken was lucky with scratch off cards and loved telling stories from his past. The family thanks the kind nurses and aides on the fourth floor of Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY for their compassionate care. Those wishing to honor Ken may make a donation to the American Diabetes Association or a charity of their choice. Calling hours will be held on Saturday January 18 from 9-11am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland with a funeral mass immediately following. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.
