Kathleen Jordan Teaney, 92, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Ellis Hospital. Kathleen was born and raised in Ithaca, New York, the daughter of the late Lawrence C. Jordan and Cecile Fish Jordan. She was the last remaining sibling of eight, predeceased by her five brothers, Paul, Lawrence, Gerald, Norman, and Carl Jordan, and two sisters, Arlene MacDougal and Jean Hankinson.
Kathleen was an Ithaca High School graduate and a member of the women’s basketball, gymnastics/tumbling and tennis teams, cheerleading squad, choir, and student council. She worked as a student aide in the Schalmont School District and was a secretary at General Electric for over 23 years. She was a devoted and longtime standing member of the Woestina Reformed Church and practiced her daily bible studies. She was passionate for her cooking and baking and loved to make trays of "goodies" at the holidays for friends, family, and the less fortunate. She loved and maintained her beautiful flower gardens, and loved her Pomeranians, adopting and rescuing seven over the years; together enjoying their walks and work outdoors. Kathleen religiously watched "her Yankees,” followed her six grandchildren's sports and activities, and adored their visits, phone calls, and babysitting in their earlier years. She was the best mom anyone could possibly be blessed with and a devoted, loving wife to her husband, partner, and friend for over 71 years, Edwin "Vern."
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Edwin "Vern" Teaney, her two sons, Michael A. Teaney and Kevin S. Teaney, and her six grandchildren, Nicole Anne, Ryan Patrick, Stefany Mariana, Bryan Alexander, Connor Jones, and Brody Jones Teaney, all who will miss her dearly.
