Rotterdam, NY-Kalina Kathleen Young, age 13, of Mullen Drive, a 6th grade student at Mohonasen Central School, entered into the arms of our Lord in the comfort of her home on Saturday morning, August 15, 2015.She was surrounded by the love and support of her family at the time of her passing, following a courageous battle with her illness. She was born in Schenectady, the daughter of Camille Parvana and the late William Young Jr. Kalina was a 6th grade student at the Mohonasen School District.She was an intelligent, funny, fun, artistic person, blessed with a perfect pitch and a love of music. Kalina will be dearly missed by her paternal grandmother and caretaker, Patricia (Keith) Bushey of Rotterdam; beloved brother, Nick LaRose; maternal grandparents , George (Darcy) Parvana of Latham and Linda Wrey of Montana; her aunt, Trish (Rocco) Parvana; uncle, Mike Parvana an aunt, Ann Young; also a cousin, Joshua Reedy, who took great care of Kalina and many other cousins and friends. Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening, August 19, 2015, from 4-8 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam.All are respectfully invited to a memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Kalina commencing on Thursday, Aug. 20, at 11 am at the Church of St. Adalbert , Schenectady.Burial will follow in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Schenectady. In Heaven, Jesus welcomes our Kalina. He hears her melodious voice, sees her beautiful paintings, enjoys her sharp wit and her loving Soul.
