Justin Robert Hess, known affectionately as “Justy” or “Just”, passed away at the family camp on Wednesday August 14, 2024. Known for his deep personality and caring heart, Justin was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Unaware of the greatness others saw in him, Justin was deeply admired as a beautiful person inside and out. He had a deep artistic spirit and found solace and joy in his sketches and drawings, a talent that brought beautiful pictures to life. The shared love of music and adventure created a tight bond with his sister. His playlists and memorable dancing will be dearly missed by family. The deep comforting conversations with his Mom and Gram were most cherished moments. And the time spent at his Gram's camp in the Adirondack Mountains, with his recent passion for fishing were some of his happiest times. Known within his family as the go-to griller and handyman, Justin enjoyed spending time with his loved ones including his soulmate dog Tucker. His loud, boisterous laugh and willingness to help anyone at any time will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Justin’s “Can-Do” attitude and hands-on skills allowed him to excel as a Top Electrical Engineering Apprentice at Martin Electric and Student at Hudson Valley Community College. Over the past 4 years, he was diligently working to complete his 5-year apprenticeship to earn his Electrical Engineering degree to join Martin Electric as a full-time employee.
He is survived by his mother, Lynn Spany, his sister, Amanda Hess, and his grandmother, Virginia “Gram” Spany. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bobby” Hess, and his grandfather, Cyril Spany, known as "Pop Pop."
