Rotterdam – June Constance Vitch, 89, passed away on Monday, April 5th, 2021. She was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Alexander LaLone and Florence (Curiale) LaLone. June was a graduate of St. Columba’s School and went on to work for the Daily Gazette as a classified advertisement specialist. A talented seamstress, June expertly crafted anything from clothing to furniture covers. She was also a gifted baker; you never knew what sweet treat would be waiting for you when you arrived at June’s house. A diehard New York Yankees fan, June had a special love for her favorite player, Derek Jeter. In June’s later years, she enjoyed spending time at the Sunnyview pool with her “pool people.” Above everything, June was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Rocco G. Vitch as well as her son, Christopher Vitch. June leaves behind her children, Mark (Jennifer) Vitch, Linda (Mark) Ciotoli and Kurt (Holly) Vitch in addition to her two granddaughters, Kristen and Nicole Ciotoli. Calling hours will take place on Monday, April 12th from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue in Rotterdam. Services will begin on Tuesday morning at 10 am at the funeral home and will be followed by burial at Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam.
