June M. Montenaro

Rotterdam – June M. Montenaro, 96, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday December 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family

Born in Schenectady and a lifelong area resident, June was the daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (Balga) Marx.

Her life was centered around her family and church where she was an active parishioner at the former Our Lady of Assumption Parish (Our Lady Queen of Peace). She took great joy in sharing her time and talent with the Schenectady ARC. In addition to her love for family and her strong faith, she opened her heart to many animals in need of a loving home.

Survivors include her loving husband of 76 years (Oct 16,1949) Stephen L. Montenaro Jr, 

her daughters Gail Kriss and Sandy (Paul) DeBiase,

grandchildren Joey, Michael, Jason (Brittany) and Matthew (Tammy), her sister Joyce Santor and several nieces and nephews. June was predeceased by her son Stephen L. Montenaro III and her brother Robert Marx.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Steve, Andrea & Tammy for their assistance and loving care for June.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday December 19th from 10 – 11:30 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam.

A prayer service will immediately follow at 11:30 am.

June will be laid to rest at St. Cyril’s cemetery, Rotterdam.
