Schenectady - Judith Sanders Ravella of Schenectady, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Home on April 28, 2021. Born on May 3, 1940 to parents George and Jennie Sanders, she was a loving and dedicated daughter and sister. Judy married the true love of her life, Joseph Ravella, on February 1, 1959. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage, and together they raised three appreciative children who were proud to call her mom. Everything our mother did was done with love for her family. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, she began her work career for the State of New York, leaving to raise her family. After her children entered school, she accepted a job with Beneficial Finance and worked her way up to Manager, remaining until her retirement. Our mother loved her career and her many co-workers. We were very proud of her achievements. All who entered her home quickly understood what the love of family truly meant. They would also soon be offered the most delicious meatballs, sauce and pasta ever made! She loved decorating her home and there was nothing better than sitting in mom’s kitchen, having a cup of coffee with the fireplace roaring and admiring her beautiful Christmas decorations. Mom was so excited to become a grandmother that she made it an art-form, resulting in endless celebrations, limousine rides to her specially catered tea parties, and surprise shopping bag-sized lunches delivered for birthdays. Judy kept life-long friends and never missed a high school class reunion planning meeting. She so enjoyed Wednesday afternoon bridge get-together’s and Friday night card games with the girls. She loved you all! Judy is survived by her beloved children Margo (Walter) Mahoski, Joseph Ravella, Jr. and Jeffrey (Dianne) Ravella, grandchildren Drs. Lindsey Carte (Alvaro Hofflinger), Abbye Carte-Wu (Samuel), Samantha Mahoski, Geena (Nick) Larson, Nicole (Ben) Hoffman, Anthony Bohanske and Tonia Bohanske. Great Grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoffman, Jose Vicente Hofflinger Carte, Riley, Ciara, Isabella Derenzo, Reghan Kea and born a day before she passed, twins Bruno and Rafael Hofflinger Carte. In addition to her parents and husband, mom was predeceased by her brother Carman(Patricia) Sanders, Sister-in-law Jisella (Fred) Rodriguez, Dominick (Wynn) Reveglia, Edward Nagy.
