Juanita Fae Taylor, 81, of Schenectady, NY, formerly of Cabot, AR, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.She was born April 1, 1932 in Marquette, KS, to James and Cora Rhodes.She is preceded in death by her husband, James Rex Taylor to whom she was married 25 years.Juanita was one of nine children who also precede her in death. Surviving relatives include her son, James Taylor, daughter-in-law Kelleye Taylor, and five grandchildren:Adam of Phenix City, Alabama, Stephen, Julia, Nathan and Carleye Taylor of Schenectady. Juanita lived in Schenectady with her son's family for the last 9 years, moving from Cabot, AR where she lived for 29 years.Prior to that she lived in the Salina, KS area where much of her extended family still resides.She graduated high school from Lindsborg, KS in 1950.Juanita retired from the federal government in 1993. "Granny T", as she was known to her friends and family, was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Niskayuna.She loved to tell stories of the old days to her grandchildren and was always the source of humor in her family. The funeral service is Saturday, February 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Bapitst Church, 2635 Balltown Road, Niskayuna, NY.The burial will be at Glover Cemetery in Lonoke, Arkansas at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church at the above address.All funds designated as such will be used for an organization called Hope of Life which provides for the rescue and health of children in Guatemala.See their website at www.hopeoflifeintl.org.
