Joycelyne Ruth (Duncombe) Adams

JoycelyneRuth Adams, 90, of Guilderland,NY, formerlyfromRotterdam, NY, passedpeacefully at home on Thursday, May 7th, 2020 surrounded by her loving children. Joy was born in Marks Tey, Essex, England and emigratedto the USto marryLester VAdams Jrin 1947.Theyshared 52 wonderful years together. Joy was predeceased by her husband Lester VJr, andsons Paul R & Lester V III. Sheis survived by herdaughterWendy Joy (Thomas) Madelone, andsons Michael (Anne) Adams, Steven (Jonetta) Adams, and Keith (Wendy Sue) Adams and hermany loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. DuringWWII,Joy attended a dance in herhometown in England and met a young American servicemannamed Les. Shebecame what was known as a “SweetheartBride”,as after the war,Leswent home and sent for her to join him. Ittook a year to complete the required paperwork, but they were soon to begin amarriage that lasted 52 years. Joy attended St.George’s Episcopal Church, Schenectadyfor many years and was active in the AltarGuild, ECW and "TheShop". Shealso chairedthe "Dragon’s Den" with Les,which provided clothing for those in need. Mum (Nanny)was always ready with a cup of Englishtea when we visited and was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She will be dearly missed by her loving family. Our deepest appreciation to Dr. ZofiaDrzymalskiand the CommunityHospicefor their kind and gentle care ofour Mum.
