Joyce H. Fonda

ROTTERDAM - Joyce H. Fonda, 88, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday December 26, 2023. Daughter of the late Joseph H. Reisinger and Margaret “Peg” J. Reisinger. After graduating from Draper High School in 1953, she worked as an office manager with Modern Construction until the building of Silver Haven in the early 70’s. She remained with Silver Haven until her retirement. Joyce was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for Carmen Fire Dept and was their secretary and treasurer for 25 years. She was also the secretary/treasurer for the Lake Pleasant Golf Association. Joyce was the matriarch of her family, a loving and supportive mother and grandmother.

She was a smart, quick witted, strong, and determined woman. Joyce enjoyed shopping, driving her Cadillac, traveling, bookkeeping, warm weather, and holidays with her family. She also loved spending time with her cherished lifelong friend Binny. She had a sweet tooth and baked many delicious pies. She especially enjoyed her trips to Hollywood Florida and the family camp at Lake Pleasant in Speculator, NY. She was loved and cherished by her family and will be truly missed. She was predeceased by husband Louis P. Fonda and brother James J. Reisinger.

Joyce is lovingly remembered by her son Mark J. Fonda (Michele) of Rotterdam and daughter Ann M. Saether (Flemming) of Fredericksburg, VA; her grandchildren, Crystle, CJ, Dana, Abby, and Eric; and 6 great-grandchildren.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday January 2nd from 10:30am to 11:30am at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carmen Rd., Schenectady, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am. She will then be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the American Lung Association or to the Community Hospice.
