Josephine Depoalo Carach

Josephine DePoalo Carach passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Home. Born in Schenectady, Josephine was the daughter of the late Carmen and Josephine DePoalo. A homemaker, Josephine was also employed by Woolworths and W.T. Grant in downtown Schenectady for many years. She was the beloved wife of 54 years to the late Anthony L. Carach, Sr. (1997); beloved mother of Anthony Carach, Jr. of New Jersey and Jo-Ann Carney of Rotterdam; beloved sister of her late siblings, Carmen DePoalo, Salvatore DePoalo, Mary DePoalo Schwab and Antonette DePoalo Dean, loving grandmother of Michael Carach, Jeffrey Carach, Shannon Enders, Shawn Carney and Kyle Carney, and the great grandmother of 11. At Josephine's request there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a service in the abbey at Evergreen Memorial Park, 2150 Central Ave., Colonie on Wednesday, February 24 at 11:30am. The family would like to thank Josephine's long-time aides Vidya and Shelly for their love, compassion and selfless dedication and also Kaitlyn from the Activities Department who brought joy to our mom with her genuine smile, love and compassion.
