Josephine J (Jablonski) Baker

Schenectady – Josephine J. Baker, 78, passed away at the Fulton Center on Monday, February 8th, 2021. Josie was born in Schenectady to her parents, the late John and Cecelia Jablonski. She was a lifelong Schenectady resident and attended Mont Pleasant High School. Josie worked for several years at St. Clare’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide before becoming a full-time mom and homemaker. Josie had a passion for the outdoors, particularly the Lake Placid area and the Ausable River. She loved camping, fishing and spending time in the woods with the wildlife. She had no fear when it came to nature, never hesitating to pick up a snake to show her 4 sons. Josie will be remembered for being a fantastic mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She leaves behind her 4 boys, Raymond M. Baker Jr., John J. Baker, William L. Baker (Janet) and Michael J. Baker and her grandchildren, Jessica, William Jr., Christina, Joanna, Joshua, John Jr. and Deanna. Josie was predeceased in 2011 by her husband of 49 years, Raymond M.
