Joseph Stibinger Jr. 89, of Rotterdam, NY slipped peacefully away at the Stratton VA Medical Center Saturday May 31, 2014. Joseph Stibinger was born February 28, 1925, Eminence, NY. the son of the late Clara (Heiter) and Joseph Stibinger. Survived by his wife Margaret Bianchine Stibinger and daughtersand son-in-laws, (grand children ) Joanne and Charles Keeney (Arthur , Dawn ), Darlene and FredericLee, (Brenda, Erik, Andrew) Deborah and Michael Wilson (Michael Jr. and Cody), Cynthia and Russell Holman,( R.J.,Emily, Molly), Beth and Steven Thayer (Joe , Sam)(Teresa and Christopher Dube) He is also survived by, 8 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, hisNieces, Loretta (Balogh) Crannell , Alice (Balogh) Hopes , Joan Bianchine Rudzinski and Nephew, TerriBianchine and his sister-in-law Sally Stibinger. Joe served in the U. S. Army.He had a long, varied work history ranging from dairy farmer, logger, Schenectady County farm, Palazini Construction, Hillcrest Golf Course and Wine Merchants.Joe loved the home he built on the mountain in Eminence.He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors and hunting. He bowled in the Daily Gazette and Lutheran mixed bowling leagues. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Scotia, NY. In addition to h is parents, Joseph was also predeceased by his son John Fish and daughter Janice L. Dube, his sisters Marie and Clara and brothers,David T. and George. Calling hours will be held Tuesday June 3, 2014 5:30-7:30pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Heldeberg Ave, Rotterdam, NY 12306. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at 11 am at DeMarco -Stone Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Summit Cemetery, south of the village on Route 10 on Saturday June 21, 2014 at 11 am, with military honors.
