Schenectady - Joseph Christopher Snyder, 68, passed away Tuesday, January 5, at Ellis Hospital. Joe was born in Albany, NY.He was a 1965 graduate of CBA and attended SUNY Cobleskill.Starting his career soon after, at GE, beginning with the Apprentice Program, Joe enjoyed the challenges before him and the friendships he established.He retired in 2003. Joe loved spending time with his family, enjoyed road trips in his Jeep, fishing and attending races in Homestead, FL.He will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Joan; children, Jennifer (Jacob) DeLoriea, Tina Fiore (Charlie Reid), Joseph Snyder, Jr.; stepdaughters, Laura (Larry) Parsons, Lynne O'Donnell (Larry Hynes).Grandchildren: Christopher, Anna and Kathryn DeLoriea; Brian, Rachel and Amanda Parsons; Jack O'Donnell.Siblings: Bill (Sandy) Snyder, Nora (Tom) Dobson, Stephen (Stephanie) Snyder.Brothers-in-Law, David (Sylvia) Okrasinski and Mark (Michele) Okrasinski.Family friend, Frank Stabinski.Beloved nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Willard Lawrence Snyder and Mary Irene (Christopher) Snyder, and beloved Mother-in-Law, Clara Okrasinski. Calling hours will be held Sunday, January 10, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady, NY. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 am on Monday, January 11, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian burial at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church located at 3040 Hamburg Street, Schenectady.Burial will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy-Schenectady Road, Niskayuna, NY.
