Schenectady – Joseph Sheroka Sr., 64, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 13th, 2021. Joe was born and raised in Schenectady. He grew up in Woodlawn and was extremely proud of that. He graduated from Linton High School and served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Coronado. Joe married the love of his life, Candy M. Jandrew on January 30th, 1982. He was the rock of his family, always there for his loved ones no matter what. He was the go-to guy if anyone had a problem. Joe was the best husband and father and took great pride in his big family, they were his life. Joe loved the Buffalo Bills as well as hunting and fishing. He had a passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles and was a member of O.T.H.G. Joe leaves behind his beloved wife of 39 years, Candy M. Sheroka; his 9 children, Joseph Sheroka Jr. (Shaneika), Buddy Sheroka, Christopher Sheroka (Laura), Cody Sheroka (Raegan), Harley Sheroka (Petra Morales), Sabrina Sheroka, Precious Sheroka (Christopher Mortimore), Sam Sheroka (Gabby Marquez) and Autumn Sheroka; cherished grandchildren, Diamond, Jada, Jonasia, Miracole, Joseph III, Buddy Jr., Montana (and Buddy Jr. and Montana'smother, Nicole Ranieri), Christopher Jr., Tyler, Christiana,Karson, Khloee’May and Jaxson; and step-grandchildren, Ayanna, Bella, Rowen, Willow and Leela-Anne. He also leaves behind his siblings, John Sheroka (Denise) and Mary Truax. Besides his parents, John Sheroka Sr. and Margaret Oswalt Sheroka, Joe is predeceased by 2 grandchildren, Summer and Hunter as well as his siblings, Sandy Hutching and Nick Sheroka. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening, from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A time of remembrance will begin at 7pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
