Rotterdam – Joseph “Fritz” Paull, age 83, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, January 8th, 2018. A lifelong area resident and graduate of Draper School, Joe was the son of the late Arthur Paull and Matilda Van Valkenburg. Fritz worked in many capacities for multiple Capital Region Price Choppers, retiring after over 40 years. Affectionately known as Grumpa, Fritz could always be found enjoying a beer with his 2 sons, taking many trips to breweries near and far. He also loved his weekly Football Sunday get-togethers. Each year, he looked forward to the annual Gilbert Lake trip with kids, grandkids, and family friends. Fritz was predeceased in 2010 by his wife, Mary T. (Barton) Paull. He is also predeceased by his son-in-law, Julian “Jay” Hebert and sister, Sandra Marshall. Fritz is survived by his children, John J. Paull, Joseph F. Paull Jr. and Tammy J. Hebert, grandchildren, Joseph Paull, Vivica Paull, Keeley Paull and Alexander “Alex” Enos, sisters, Shirley Ambesi (late Tony), and Marion Goodness. A visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4-6pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam with a memorial service to follow at 6pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Any contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of his late wife.
