Joseph C Morgan

March 19, 1954 — June 26, 2022

Rotterdam - Joseph C. Morgan, 68, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2022 at the Schenectady Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing after a long illness. Joe was born on March 19, 1954 to Charles and Winifred (Godlewski) Morgan. In 1981 he married his adoring wife Cheryl “Sue” (Wasileski). A lifelong resident of Rotterdam, he attained a degree in electronics and pursued a career in marketing and technical writing at several local technology companies involving circuit board testing, robotics and scientific instrumentation among others. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the N.Y. Giants, and played local amateur hockey in his younger days. He was also a lifelong table hockey player and for over 30 years Joe was a top player in the Adirondack Table Hockey League. He was also a voracious reader (and collector) of books, and was always looking for something new to learn. One cannot talk about Joe without mentioning his comedic character and lightning wit which was cherished by all who knew him. Among his family, he was known as the "Pun-master General." He had an encyclopedic memory for names, dates and events, often holding court at family gatherings and enjoying the sharing of old family stories. Throughout his life he was known for keeping in contact with nearly everyone he ever befriended or worked with. Besides his wife, Joe is survived by his siblings Susan Morgan, Patricia Perez and Thomas (Molly) Morgan. Also surviving are his cousins James (Rose Marie) Trigger, Paul (Connie) Trigger and Kristina (Frank) Marcellino, brothers-in-law James and Jack Wasileski, his beloved nieces Jo Leigh (Jesse) Dunn, Lisa Morgan, Kitara Perez, Nyana Perez with nephews Jeffry Morgan and Hector Perez Jr., and grand nieces, Lauren Dunn and Kivory Perez. Parents in-law Joe and Joan Wasileski and his much-loved aunt Theresa Godlewski. Joe was predeceased by his brother-in-law Joseph Wasileski Jr.. Joe respectfully requested that no services be held. He will be interred at Parkview Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Joe’s name can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
