Joseph F Masciocco

July 27, 1987 — December 6, 2016

Joey Masciocco, 29, passed away suddenly on December 6, while touring Southeast Asia with his love, MacKenzie Malone. Joe was the loving son of Joseph and Sharonand “partner in crime” to Michael, his brother. Born on July 27, 1987, he graduated from Guilderland High School in 2005 and Northeastern University in 2010 earning degrees in entrepreneurship and finance and as a proud alum of Northeastern he chaired committees and organized networking events. Joe had established himself as a leader the B2B social media software industry, lastly heading a team for Oracle's Cloud Based Solutions. Joes’ places of residence included Boston, New York City and San Francisco. Some of his passions included music (every kind imaginable), dancing, singing (Northeastern University Choir), biking (two 100 mile races), running (San Francisco Marathon 2014) and concocting bizarre cocktails while entertaining friends. The number of lives that Joe has touched has been too numerous to count. “Given enough time, Joe would have met every person in the world.” All who knew Joe or had the fortune to cross his path, even for a moment, were forever changed by his supernatural energy, positive outlook on life and untiring desire to help every member of the human race. He left this world much better than he found it. Although at this time it is painfully hard to accept, we can sit here with a sliver of acceptance in knowing that in your 29 years you lived and loved every second, every minute, every hour, every day of that 29. And you closed out your time here on earth doing what you love with someone you love. To honor Joey, we ask that you instill his unique personality into different aspects of your daily lives, specifically, his rare talent for inspiring a stranger to smile and making a best friend. Joey’s life will be celebrated and remembered by his adoring parents, Joseph and Sharon, his loving brother, Mikey, his Grandmothers’ “Mimi” Anne Lemme, and Providence and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins and “best friends” far too many to count. A special thank you to Steve Carroll of the US Embassy in Laos for his untiring efforts to bring our boy home.Friends and family are invited to call at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Turnpike (just west of Carman Rd.), Guilderland NY 12084 on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2:00-6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 19 at 12:00 pm at St. Madeleine-Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Road, Schenectady, NY 12303. Many of Joey’s friends have asked about contributions in his name and if you knew Joe you know how much he loved his Alma Mater Northeastern University and while there he enjoyed being a member of the Choral society, a group that it seems was always in need of funds. So if you wish, in his honor, feel free to make donations as follows: neu.edu/giveonline In order to directthe gift toward Joseph's favored area, the Choral Club Society, please note designation# 802045.
