Joseph J. Keenan. It is with a sad and heavy heart we announce the passing of Joseph J. Keenan, our father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2014, at home, with his family by his side. On September 8, 2009, Joseph was predeceased by his wife Ann, after 32 years of marriage. We are at ease knowing his love was there, greeting him at the heavenly gates. He is survived by: children, Tracey Harrington, Wayne (Kellie) Johnson, Rick (Karen) Keenan; all of Rotterdam. Mark (Cindy) Keenan of Colorado, and Debbie Decker of Washington; brother, Daniel (Joan) Keenan of Scotia; sister-in-law,Elizabeth (Ralph) Brown, of Tappan, N.Y. Also surviving him are brothers, Raymond, Bruce and Paul DeSarbo and sister, Diane Pollock; all of Schenectady. Joe was proud of his 6 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren and his many loving nieces and nephews. Also mourning his loss are his faithful companions, LacyAnn, JJ and Tobey- who never left his side. Joe retired from the SUNY Albany Police after 36 years of State Service. He also retired after 20 years service with the National Guard. Our Dad was a strong willed, gentle, kind hearted man who will be missed tremendously. Calling hours will be held Sunday, December 21 from 3 to 5 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam.
