Schenectady Joseph P. Hennessey, 69, of Schenectady passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday May 31, 2015. Born in Saratoga, Joe was the son of the late William A. Hennessey and Gladys (Clough) Pulver on August 21, 1945. He attended Colonie High School.Where then he enlisted into the U.S. Navy stationed in Norfolk, VA on the USS Hartley. He retired from Niagara Mohawk after 30 years as a Chief Garage Mechanic. Joe is survived by his loving wife Judith L. (Zeglen) Hennessey. On May 28th, 2015 they celebrated their 49th wedding Anniversary. He is cherished by his son Joseph E. Hennessey and daughter Jill (Robert) Viscusi and his grandchildren who he adored Marina and Anthony Viscusi. He is also survived by his Siblings William A. Hennessey (Sue) of Utah, Michael (Nancy) Hennessey of Colonie and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, John and James Hennessey and his step father Russell Pulver. He was a member of the 25 year club, Elks Lodge of Rotterdam, and Fish and Game for Niagara Mohawk. He loved to go on trips to NASCAR with his best bud Dan O'Brien, his Son Joe and wife Judy. He went hunting with his son and grandson Anthony as well as his good friends Wolf and his son Wolfy; and the late Bob Gore. He would light up a room with that great big smile and everyone loved him. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave from 3 pm to 6:30 pm on Friday June 5, 2015. Immediately following a funeral home service will begin at 6:30 pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Joe's name to The Community Hospice of Schenectady 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, N.Y. 12205.
