Joseph P. Cordi, 85, of Rotterdam, died peacefully at home, with his family at his bedside, on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Born in Schenectady, Joseph was the youngest of five children born to the late Joseph and Carmela Farone Cordi. He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from RPI. Joseph owned and operated Desco Vitro Glaze on Curry Road in Rotterdam for 40 years. He also owned D’cor Color Center on Helderberg Avenue. Joseph was a licensed pilot and owned his own airplane. He was an avid flier. In addition to his parents, Joseph was also predeceased by his four siblings. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Renzi Cordi, two children; Denise (Joseph) Paolucci of Rotterdam and Dennis Cordi of Rotterdam, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be private. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, 11 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
