With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Michael Bartlette on Friday March 21, 2025, at the age of 89. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, and proud great-grandfather, Joseph’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he loved fiercely.
Born on October 10, 1935, Joseph lived a full and generous life. On September 27, 1952, he married the love of his life, Dolores, and together they shared 73 beautiful years of marriage marked by love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.
Joseph was a devoted father to Joseph (Jackie) Bartlette Jr. and Deborah McGuire, a beloved grandfather to Jamie (Tracey) McGuire and Deidra (Edward) Joy, and a proud great-grandfather to Abriel, Lilah and Alexis. He is also survived by his siblings: three brothers, Anthony (Sonya), Daniel (Dawna), and Mickey (Cheryl); and two sisters, Carol and Denise. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews who will forever remember his humor, warmth, and generosity.
Joseph was a hard-working and passionate man whose career began as the owner of the Amsterdam Pool Center. Through vision and dedication, he expanded his work into Craftsman's Kitchens, which later became Craftsman's Construction. As a contractor, he loved bringing his customers’ visions to life and sharing in their happiness. His career led to deep friendships and wonderful memories. Joseph truly loved what he did and continued working to officially retire at the age of 80 to spend his later years surrounded by the family and friends he cherished most.
Known for his tireless energy and giving spirit, Joseph was always ready to lend a hand, share a story, or offer a word of wisdom. He had a lifelong love of horse racing and spent many happy hours at the track, where he made countless memories with family, friends and fellow enthusiasts
Joseph’s life was defined by service, generosity, and love. He leaves behind a family who adored him and a community forever better because he was part of it.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Neuro ICU team for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Joseph during his time in the unit. A special thank you as well to the Medicine Team on Floor M3, who cared for him with dignity, kindness, and grace in his final days. Your support and dedication brought comfort to both Joseph and his loved ones, and your efforts will never be forgotten.
