John Levi Thomas

Guilderland, NY-Mr. John Levi Thomas, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, August 29, 2015 at Guilderland Center Nursing Home. He was born on November 30, 1930 son of the late John and Elsie (Gearhardt) Thomas.John was married to his wife Madeline in 1972 who passed away in April of 2013 after a beloved union of 41 years.The couple truly enjoyed their marriage, one that was filled with constant love and companionship.He was a proud veteran having served with the US Army.John was a self employed contractor for many years. Survivors include his siblings, Arthur Thomas and Marion Kingsbury along with many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Irving, William, George, Frank, Arthur, Walter, Edwin, Eva, Gladus, Rosemary, Florence, Pansey and Sylvia. The funeral will commence on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 11 am from Christ the King Church, 20 Sumpter Ave., Albany, where his Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 10 am until 11 am, prior to the Mass, at the church.Procession will follow to St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, where he will be laid to rest.Military honors will be offered.Arrangements are in the caring guidance of DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 5216 Western Ave., Guilderland.
