John Edward Terek

Rotterdam-John Edward Terek, 53, died on October 12, 2017 at home after a long battle with cancer. John was born April 10, 1964 in Niskayuna, NY to Chester E. Terek and Rita A. Terek. He graduated from Schalmont High School in 1982 and went on to be a successful carpenter and floor installer, working for various stores in Schenectady. John was also a talented guitar player and played with a number of local bands at local establishments. John attended the Tridentine Latin Mass and was a long time member of St. Michael’s church in Glenmont, NY. He is survived by his son, Anthony Michael Terek, daughter Sierra Marguerite Terek and grandson, Jayden Crespo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Rita. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Tuesday October 17, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm. A Requiem Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday October 18, 2017 at the funeral home with Father Joseph Collins officiating .Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery 9w Glenmont NY.
